Yanai City is located at the easterm part of Yamaguchi Prefecture, the warmest and mildest within the prefecture. The city faces the inland Sea of Japan, and many fishermen come here as the catch is good throughout the year. The city is famous for its rows of streets and white wall houses which bring us back into history. The town is also known for the distinguished literary men who were produced here, and receives many tourists.
The goldfish paper lantern is a famous local product. The decoration,modeled after lovely goldfish, and popular regardless of age.
Nearby is the famous Contain Bridge, one of the three noted bridge in Japan, constructed in an arch which is historical construction technology, telling of the excellency history's construction technology.
